WELCOME
Dear Huskies:
This is an exciting time for Harlem High School! We are embarking on a journey toward being a truly
career and college readiness focused school, not just in our teaching and learning, but also in our
mindset and approach to education. We have begun designing career pathways tailored both to
meaningful and lasting growth targets and to meeting the employment and postsecondary readiness
of our region. We will continue to develop these pathway endorsement areas so that we can continue
to help all of our learners realize their unlimited potential while developing skills and acquiring
knowledge they will need and use throughout their personal and professional lives.
Incoming freshmen will each select a pathway within our College and Career Readiness
Endorsement areas. This publication contains information about each of these along with specific
courses and paths of study that students can pursue. Use this information when you, your parents,
and your teachers and counselor work together to find the best path for you.
Currently active high school students can use the information contained in this publication to focus
their coursework on an area that interests them. While they will not formally select an
endorsement like the freshmen, it is still very important that they also work with their parents,
teachers, and counselors to ensure they are taking rigorous coursework, aligned with their goals.
Parents/Guardians and Community Members: Our endorsement areas are designed to
provide meaningful education that will prepare our graduates for the 21st Century workforce. Your
partnership with us and our students is a vital element of this process. Please contact a member
of our team any time you have any questions.
Teachers and Counselors: The information in this publication can help guide your conversations
with your students about their goals and plans, and it can help us all as we continue to build
meaningful learning experiences.
We are thrilled to see what these next steps will add to Harlem's great history. We are glad to have all
of our stakeholders along with us on this journey toward college and career readiness for all.
Yours in education,
Jeremy Bois
