STEP DEVELOP A PLAN
3 Once you feel comfortable with a particular career path, you
will work with your counselor to map out a plan. It is
important that you progress along a career or college
readiness pathway and also satisfy your graduation
requirements.
FRESHMAN YEAR
In addition to English 9, World Studies, Health, PE, a math course, and a science
course, you may also begin your career pathway with an introductory course. You
should also choose an elective course that is recommended for your chosen
pathway.
SOPHOMORE YEAR
During your sophomore year, you will take a Career Development course that is
specifically designed for you to learn about pursuing careers within your chosen
area. You will also take English 10, a math course, a science course, and PE.
Additionally, you will take an introductory course for your pathway along with
recommended electives.
JUNIOR YEAR
This is when you will begin more specialized coursework to your chosen career
pathway. You will also take United States History, American Literature, and PE.
You will take math, science, and elective courses aligned to your pathway as well.
SENIOR YEAR
Ideally, your senior year will include an internship, a work study program, a dual
credit course, and/or a professional credential. You will have a specialized program
aligned to advanced coursework in your career pathway. You will also take
Government & Civics, Consumer Education, English electives, and PE.
